This spell inflicts all damage at once. Thus having 3 Flame components on the board will inflict 3 damage instead of 3 times 1 damage.
Flame components include every flame currently usable as a component, comprising channeled flames, Permanents, and Equipment. "Wave of flames" wouldn't count itself unless it was channeled as a component when it applied its effects.
