If this spell would be discarded from hand, simply put it channeled on the board for free.
If this spell would be discarded from the board, it is channeled instead, and as such does not releases its Mana in the Available Ether.
If this spell would be phased out, the action of "phasing out" is still considered as happening, although it results in the spell going to your channeled spells instead of your discard pile.
For instance, if phased out with Leap in time, it will still put its Mana cost in the Available Ether, but will end up channeled.
