Je vous propose une nouvelle idée pour changer du format classique deck + side en BO3 : une phase de picks / bans entre vos decklists.

1. Chaque joueur sélectionne 4 decks qu’il pourrait utiliser lors de ce set.
2. Une fois les 4 decks révélés, chaque joueur bannit un deck de l’adversaire. Il en reste donc 3 par joueur.
3. Parmi les decks restants, choisissez-en un (sans le révéler à l’adversaire).
4. Vous pouvez side AVANT le match.
5. Jouez le match.
6. Le vainqueur gagne 1 point et ne peut plus réutiliser ce deck pour ce set. On reprend ensuite à l’étape 3, jusqu’à ce qu’un joueur remporte le set (2 points pour un BO3, 3 points pour un BO5).

Si cette idée de picks/bans vous plaît, on pourrait l’appliquer a d’autres matchs du bracket l’adoptent également. On aura le temps d’en discuter !

• A match = one game.
• A set = a group of matches. A BO3 (Best of 3) set = 2 or 3 matches, with the winner being the first player to achieve 2 victories.

Restrictions

• Deck: minimum 40 cards + side deck: maximum 10 cards.
• Tournament sets must be played in a public voice channel on this server.
• Having a referee present is preferred.
• Maximum duration: 30 minutes per match. After 30 minutes:

If Player 1 has the turn: they have 5 minutes to finish their turn, then Player 2 has 10 minutes to finish theirs. If Player 2 has the turn: they have 5 minutes to finish their turn. If no winner is determined after this, then the player with the higher clock loses.

Tournament Format

• Part 1: Qualification Phase

Large round-robin group : everyone plays against everyone! Classic TTS format: one deck + one side deck per match, siding allowed between matches, etc. Recommended pace: 1 set per week. You can play more if you wish, or postpone a set to the next week if you’re unavailable. Since this isn’t a Swiss system, delays won’t block others. However, if I notice too many delays or abuses, I reserve the right to disqualify you from a set (0 points for your opponent and -1 for you), or even from the entire competition if it is too recurrent.

• Part 2: Final Phase

Single or double elimination bracket (to be determined later), with as many participants as possible. ! IMPORTANT ! You can use any deck + side deck during the qualification phase. ALL decklists and side decks will be made public after each set! During the final phase, you may only use decks that you played during qualifications. So it’s best to vary your archetypes during the group stage!

• Special Format for the Last Sets (Semi-Finals + Finals)

Here’s a new idea to mix things up from the usual deck + side BO3 format: a pick/ban phase between your and your opponent’s decklists.

1. Each player selects 4 decks they could use for this set.
2. Once all 4 are revealed, each player bans one deck from the opponent. 3 decks remain per player.
3. From the remaining decks, choose one (without revealing it to your opponent).
4. You may side BEFORE the match.
5. Play the match.
6. The winner gets 1 point and cannot reuse that deck for the rest of the set. Then repeat from step 3 until a player wins the set (2 points for a BO3, 3 points for a BO5).

If this pick/ban system works well, we could apply it to other matches in the bracket too. We’ll have time to discuss it!
